This retreat is an evolution of The Core of You Healing Sessions, which began in 2020 at The MediZen Lounge, founded by Elka. As Elka continues her personal growth, so too does her service to the community.
The Core of You Gambia is deeply rooted in reconnecting with the land and embracing the elements of nature—fire (the Sun), water (the sea), earth (the land), and air (the spirit). The voice of mama Africa is calling us to plant our feet in her soil—are you ready to answer the call?
Just five minutes from the ocean, we will gather on the beach for Rising rituals such as yoga, breathwork, and meditation, immersing ourselves in the healing power of nature. Our meals will be sourced from local farmers, ensuring that your journey also supports and uplifts the local community.
While our focus is on reconnecting with the land, The Core of You retreat also provides a space for deep personal renewal. It is designed to nurture your physical, emotional, and mental well-being, guiding you to deepen your connection to your Divinity. Through transformative practices, we will support you in releasing emotional blockages, breaking free from limiting beliefs, and healing past wounds. This is a space for freedom from self-sabotaging patterns and the emergence of clarity and empowerment.

Our Intention
Our intention for the Gambia retreat is more of a response to the calling of the Mother. The focus of this retreat/ gathering is about restoring our connection to our nature. The voice of the mother is speaking loud and clear, to those that can hear, this is your reminder-Africa is the medicine.
This retreat will allow us the space and perfect surroundings to communicate with the elements: The sea (water), the air (spirit), the sun(fire) and the soil (earth). Whilst you will certainly be having an individual experience it is important for you to overstand your presence is a participation of our collective restoration.
As a participant, you will also have space to express what is being activated and channelled.
Overall the intention is about decolonising spirituality, remembering that our nature is our spirituality and our spirituality is our nature. It is time to come home to your nature

The dates for this retreat are from November 14th - 21st 2025.
You are welcome to get your flights earlier if you would like to and enjoy Gambia for a little while before, this is encouraged.
